Position Overview
As a Medical Assistant you must demonstrate excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for working with children. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our medical team, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the office, and providing high-quality care to our young patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Greets families with a smile and introduces self
- Escorts patients to exam rooms, obtains vital signs, and records vital signs in the patients electronic chart
- Record chief complaints on patient encounter forms at each visit.
- Record and update current pharmacy on patient encounter form and in EHR at each visit.
- Record and update name/relationship of person in with the patient today along with a current phone number in EHR at each visit.
- Record and update any allergies on patient encounter form and in EHR at each visit.
- Review and reconcile current and discontinued medications in EHR at each.
- Inquire about patient’s current smoking status on patients 13 years of age and older. Record data in EHR and each visit.
- Record appropriate well check and BMI diagnosis codes in EHR at each well visit.
- Record patient education information distributed at each visit by checking the box beside the corresponding diagnosis code in EHR.
- This position involves performing manual tasks, lifting approximately 20lbs, bending, squatting, standing, thinking, and clearly communicating.
- This position is non-exempt
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
